Sub-state basketball assignments were released today. Meade is in the Greensburg-Kiowa County Sub-State along with Bucklin, Coldwater-South Central, Minneola, Montezuma-South Gray, and Satanta. Yesterday Meade USD 226 was notified by the health department that a student at the grade school had tested positive for COVID-19. Only a few quarantines have been required. The district wants to continue to remind families of the free testing at the Meade County Health Department for students and staff. Kenneth Harshberger, Superintendent

Meade USD 226 was notified right before Christmas of 3 positive COVID-19 cases at the high school - 2 students and 1 staff member. All appropriate quarantines have been put in place by the health department. From now on notification of cases will be listed on the district's Facebook page and Live Feed found on the district's website. Kenneth Harshberger, Superintendent

Meade USD 226 COVID-19 Update Meade Schools continue to remain in the YELLOW on the gating criteria. While the county positivity rate has increased, student numbers in quarantine remain very low and active cases in Meade County remain stable. The district is in great shape heading into the holidays, but everyone is encouraged to continue to follow the 3 W's during Christmas Break. Erin Abantoa in Mrs. Krier's Business Essentials class draws and colors a remarkable advertisement using the persuasive technique of "transfer" to entice people to buy. In this ad people associate the good feelings about Christmas with Tommy Hilfiger. Students learned different methods to advertise during class. Erin's project used the rhetorical device pathos - or an appeal to emotions. Fantastic Job Erin!

Because of the icy conditions, Meade Schools will have a two hour delay tomorrow - Dec. 16. There will be no AM Preschool.

Tonight’s basketball games vs Ashland have been rescheduled to Thursday, December 17th. JV and Varsity games will be played at the high school gym while Junior High games will be moved to the Elementary school gym. Both JH and HS games will begin at 4pm.
