ATTENTION MJH and MHS Band Students:
Band students going the basketball tournament in Dodge City tomorrow (Thursday) to play in pep band need to be at the high school, on the bus, and ready to leave at 6:15pm. Also, please note we will be stopping in Fowler at the grade school to pick up and drop off our Fowler band students.
Leave time for Friday's game will be announced as soon as possible.

What a great day for our MJH Quiz Bowl teams! Both of our teams moved on to the quarter finals, and one team took 3rd place! We are super proud of our students!

Congratulations Vincent! We are proud of YOU!
Meade High School senior, Vincent Lynn, was recently awarded the literary prize of "Best Poem by a Seward County Community College Student" in the college's annual poetry contest. Lynn's poem, "Frost Forthcoming" was written while taking the class Creative Writing through SCCC at Meade High School. According to teacher Lori Bigler, Vincent is the first student from Meade, that she is aware of, that has entered and received the top prize in the competition. According to Bigler, Lynn also brought home a third prize in the high school division of the competition. Vincent is the son of Tony and Marcy Lynn of Meade.

We want to congratulate MHS senior Holly Reimer on being selected to the KMEA All-State Honor Band! This is truly a BIG accomplishment as the students were chosen from a pool of hundreds of live auditionees last weekend in Salina. Way to go Holly... we are proud of you!
The SPIAA League Basketball Tournament brackets have been released! Our MHS Lady Buffaloes have the 5th seed and will take on Ashland, Friday at 2:00pm, in Spearville. Admission to the play-in games is $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for students.
Our MHS Buffaloes have earned the 3rd seed. They will play Tuesday in Dodge City at the United Wireless Arena against the winner of the Bucklin vs. Pawnee Heights game.

The Meade Trap Team will have a team meeting at 4:00pm on Sunday,January 21st, at the Meade County Extension Office. Anyone in 6th-12th grades is welcome to attend and get more information about joining the team for our upcoming Spring Season. We will discuss the upcoming season and fundraising ideas to help with costs of shells and targets.

We need YOUR help! Our MHS Powerlifting team will be hosting their second annual powerlifting meet this year and are looking for helpers. They are in need of judges, table workers, and even concession workers. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, February 24th. If you are interested in helping out please contact the high school office.

MHS Basketball made a clean sweep this weekend at all levels! The Buffs took down Satanta on the road Friday night and Ingalls at home Saturday night. And... Saylor Stapleton broke the girls' school record for 3 pointers scored in a single game as a freshman. Let's go Buffaloes!
