Congratulations to our MHS Basketball teams on a great league tournament. Our Lady Buffaloes finished in 5th place with a nice win over Kiowa County. Our Buffaloes earned a 3rd place finish, also with a solid win against Kiowa County. Way to work, MHS! We are proud of you!
Good luck to our MJH Basketball teams! Their season is coming to an end with their league tournament in Hodgeman County. Both our Lady Buffs and Buffaloes have earned the 3rd seed and will take on Spearville in the first round of play on Thursday evening.
Good luck to our MHS Scholar's Bowl team! Our team will travel to Thomas More Prep in Hays to participate in the 2023 Regional Scholar's Bowl tournament. The top three teams will advance to State.
Our MHS C-Team Lady Buffs have an additional game added to their schedule. They will play against Sublette Tuesday at 3:00pm in Sublette. This is the only Meade game scheduled for the evening. Sublette will host Cimarron for the remainder of the evening.
Our MHS Forensics team began their season in Hugoton on Saturday. They are off to a great start! All four students broke into finals and came home with medals. Easton Goff and Holly both placed in Prose earning 5th and 6th respectively. Ari Sherman and Holly Reimer finished in 5th place in IDA. Ashley Carpenter earned 6th place in Informative. Way to work, MHS Forensics! We are proud of you. Our team is coached by Ms. Barnum and Ms. Coles.

The 5th-8th grade Meade County Spelling Bee will take place this week. Our 7th grade competitors include Kellie Miller, Logan Bird, Cason Stapleton, and Peter Dale. Representing our 8th grade is Ashley Callahan, Olivia Doney, Saphyra Gilliland, and Silas Brown. Our 6th grade spellers are Axel Antonio-Salto, Kenna Cordes, Nathan Ritter, and Levi Kane. Ava Tacha, Clint Head, Aveta Vieux, and Nielle Kitson are our 5th grade participants. The competition will take place on Wednesday, February 1st at 9:00am in the MES/MJH auditorium.
