Qualified individuals should possess the following credentials/qualities:
Hold a current and appropriate Kansas teaching license or qualify for and receive the initial teaching license at the appropriate grade level and in the assigned subject matter
Be able to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
Implement lesson plans that actively engage students and provide for the individual needs of students through a variety of appropriate teaching strategies and techniques
Promote high standards for student performance, positive peer interactions and appropriate social behavior
Work cooperatively with other school personnel and parents/guardians
Adhere to USD 226 Board of Education approved policies and regulations
Be flexible and be able to perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal
Effective communication skills

*USD 226 is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented District Secretary to provide administrative support to the Superintendent and District Clerk. As a secretary you will need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and Google Drive as well as basic accounting principles. Additional skills include:
Prepare reports, correspondence, and other materials as needed
Maintain student and staff records, transcribe minutes of meetings, and file documents
Perform data entry and other clerical tasks
Assist with school operations
Handle confidential information with discretion
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Professional demeanor and customer service-oriented attitude
