MJH Geography

Wow! This week brings us to October. The year is going fast.

The KSHSAA school classifications have been released. MHS has moved into the 2A classification. Our football team will continue to compete in 8-Player Division I. All other sports will compete in the 2A division.  You can view the classifications HERE or by going to www.kshsaa.org

This week is the last home competition for our MJH volleyball and football teams. They will host South Gray, Thursday, September 29th. Volleyball begins at 4:00pm and football follows at 6:30pm.

Our MES students have been demonstrating their best BUFFS behavior this month. They will be recognized for their efforts on Friday during the BUFFS Assembly at 2:50pm. We are proud of our students! They are BOLD, UNDERSTANDING, FRIENDLY, FOCUSED, and STUDIOUS!

Our 6th-8th grade students have been invited to attend the STEMM Fire Student Conference. This will take place at South Gray High School on Friday, September 30th. A BIG BUFFALO SHOUT OUT to South Gray for inviting us to share in the STEMM Fire experience!

  • STEMM Career Exploration!  An exciting offering for your 6-12 grade students to spend 3 hours learning about careers in-person from various professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine.  STEMM FIRE will be bringing a handful of STEMM professionals out to speak about each of their careers, students then get hands-on with items from their fields, small group Q&A sessions, meet & greet with opportunities to set up mentoring and shadowing and more!  Past speakers have included orthopedic surgeons, electrical engineers, lineman, nursing, nuclear engineering, physicist, veterinary medicine, agronomist, agricultural technologist, etc.

Our MHS Lady Buffs Volleyball team continues to enjoy a great season. They are 16-4 overall and 5-0 in district play. They went 2-0 in Ingalls last week. This week they travel to South Central.

Thursday our MHS Forensics team will travel to Wichita for a special performance of Rabbit Hole at Friends University. The Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Rabbit Hole, is filled with distinctive wit and grace. The story charts Becca and Howie Corbett’s bittersweet search for comfort after tragedy. Can the healing power of love and hope be found in the darkest of places? Our MHS students are going to find out!
